Every custom job that comes through our doors starts the same way: someone has a thing that needs to exist and no catalogue sells it. Sometimes it arrives as a proper CAD file. Just as often it's a pencil sketch on a folded piece of paper, a photo of a competitor's setup, or the old part itself, cracked and dropped on our counter. All of those work. We've been turning them into finished metal at our Burlington shop since 1960, and the process is simpler than most people expect.
What to Bring for a Quote
Bring whatever you have. A hand sketch with rough dimensions is enough for our estimating team to work with, and if you have a CAD drawing, even better. No drawing at all? A photo and a conversation usually gets us there, and for jobs that need engineering, we hire an engineer so the design is stamped and done right. From there we quote based on material, complexity and shop time. It's a real number based on what the job takes, and we walk you through it line by line.
One Shop, Start to Finish
The reason we can control quality and timelines is that your job doesn't bounce between shops. Cutting, shearing, rolling, bending, punching, drilling, machining and welding all happen under one roof, in an 18,000 square foot shop with 28 tradespeople. Transitions get formed on our own brake press. Parts that need tight tolerances get milled or turned in-house to +/- .001. Welds are done by certified welders held to CWB standards, we've been certified to CSA W47.1 Division 3 for the fabrication of structural and miscellaneous steel for decades.
Finishing is part of the job too. Priming and painting happen in-house, and when a part needs powder coating or galvanizing we arrange it, so what comes back to you is ready to install, not ready for another vendor.

What We Actually Build
A quick tour of our recent work tells the story better than a list of capabilities: water purification skids and clarifiers for treatment plants, stainless tanks and hoppers for food processors, access platforms and machine frames for manufacturers, tool cabinets, tote bins, custom fences, and the decorative bike racks we fabricated for the City of Burlington. One-off brackets and single repairs sit in the schedule right beside full production runs.
Timelines and Pricing
Simple parts can turn around in days. Larger fabrications typically run a few weeks depending on material availability and how busy the shop is, and we'll give you an honest timeline with the quote, not a guess we walk back later. If a deadline is tight, say so up front. We've been doing this for 65 years, and a lot of that time has been spent getting people out of a jam on schedule.
